What is Urinary Tract Infection ?

Infection is caused in any part of your urinary system, which includes your kidney, ureters, urethra, kidney and bladder. Women are at more risk of developing UTI than men. 

According to experts, in women lifetime risk of getting one as high as 1 in 2, many women can also have repeat infection for years. 

Typically UTI is treated with antibiotics. But here are 6 simple ways you can take to reduce your chances of getting urinary tract infection. 

1. PLENTY OF WATER

The main way to prevent UTI is to keep urine diluted. So have  8-10 glasses of water daily in the form of normal water, coconut water, buttermilk, lime water, soups or fruit juices.

2. HYGIENE

After using the washroom, clean the private area from FRONT to BACK movement.

3. COMMON TOILETS:

You may usually source the infection from common toilets. Use a toilet sanitiser or disposal paper toilet seat. But don’t refrain from drinking for avoid trips to the washroom. Never leave an opportunity to pee…

4. SAFE SEX

If possible use condoms which not only protects from pregnancy but also from infections. After sexual intercourse urinate as well as clean the private parts to avoid ascending of bacteria.

5. URINATE FREQUENTLY

If you are holding the urine for long then you are giving a chance for bacteria to grow exorbitantly. Pass urine every 4-5 hourly.

6. CRANBERRY JUICES

It’s debatable whether cranberry actually helps in UTI. But Dr Moore says “ Cranberry can’t hurt but may help”. So it’s worth trying.
