Beauty Treatment that are Safe in Pregnancy

A Lot of changes happen in women’s body during pregnancy. It’s important for pregnant women to look and feel beautiful. Most of the beauty treatments during pregnancy are safe. 

Here is a guide to help mothers to know about safe beauty treatments:

Waxing : Waxing is safe during pregnancy. Due to hormonal changes skin becomes very sensitive & hair follicles become thicker which makes it painful than usual. Also make sure that salon you choose is clean, strips are not reused & spatula are sanitised or use disposal spatula as it could put you at risk of catching infections. Avoid Waxing on open cuts, varicose veins, moles, warts & rashes.

Hair Treatments: it is advisable that one should wait till completion of first trimester. Most of the hair treatments are done with chemicals, if it doesn’t come in contact with skin then it is safe. It is advised to choose natural hair dye instead of chemical ones. According to experts permanent straightening or keratin should be avoided as it contains chemical lye which can damage your hair and strong odour can make you feel dizzy and nauseous. 

Hair Treatments in Pregnancy

Facials : It is safe to go for facials but you need to be careful about the products. Try to go for natural or fruit based facial rather than chemical based. Keep in mind that your skin will be more sensitive during pregnancy. Chemical peels, electric currents or treatments like microdermabrasion are not recommended.  

Facial in Pregnancy

Makeup : Essential thing for every woman but have to be careful when you are pregnant. Avoid makeup containing parabens and fragrances, as it may cause birth defects & miscarriages. Makeup with artificial color should be avoided as it contains lead. You can use natural ingredient base make up. 

Manicures & Pedicures : No harm to get your hands and feet cleaned. Occasional use of nail-paints & nail- paint remover is fine but regular use must be avoided. As nail paints have chemicals named formaldehyde and toluene which causes irritation is eyes, throat and lungs which could cause problems to the baby. 

Massages : Experts say massage therapy during pregnancy is beneficial as it reduces depression, anxiety, relieves muscle and helps in labour. You should be careful to choose a trained therapist for this task. 

Pregnancy is a time to feel relaxed and feel good. You can continue with your daily beauty regime without worrying.
