Sonography for Early Pregnancy and Gynaec Scans
This is an ultrasound examination that is usually carried out vaginally but can be done abdominally at around 7 weeks onwards. It aims to determine the number of fetuses present and whether the pregnancy is progressing normally inside the uterus.
Sonography, also known as ultrasound imaging, is commonly used in early pregnancy and gynecological scans to visualize the reproductive organs and monitor the development of a fetus. It is a safe and non-invasive imaging technique that uses high-frequency sound waves to create real-time images of the internal structures of the body.
